As far as Charleston’s most beautiful places go, few are as breathtaking as Boone Hall. A Boone Hall Plantation wedding captures the essence of Charleston framed in live oaks on the hazy banks of a sleepy creek. For couples seeking unending southern charm, it is perfect. Bride-to-be, Remi, was so elegant in a recent Boone Hall wedding in a strapless mermaid styled couture gown with ribbons tying the lace bodice in the back. Fashionable open-toed bridal shoes and rose-gold crystal earrings rounded out the gorgeous ensemble. As she laughed with her bridesmaids, Jeremy wasn’t too far away spending time with his groomsmen, all of them looking quite dapper in blue suits and bow ties.
The hanging Spanish moss and wide branches of the live oaks always create a magical atmosphere at Boone Hall, and Remi’s bridal portraits were amazing. We love the first look though. Jeremy’s face when he turned and saw Remi was that of awe and happiness. And then they just sat on a low handing oak tree branch and talked while we captured the beautiful memories. The sun shimmering off of the water behind them through the Spanish moss set the duo ablaze.
With the avenue of oaks stretching into the distance, the plantation’s wrought iron gates was the perfect place for the ceremony. Rich brown chairs lined both sides of the path leading to the plantation house, with beautiful floral arrangements dotting the aisle. We love the flower girl in her puffy dress, she was too cute! Remi joined Jeremy in front of their family and friends and they vowed to love one another forever. The newly pronounced husband and wife turned to a loud applause, smiling widely. It was time to celebrate!
The Cotton Dock was decorated with cafe lights that cast a romantic golden glow across the building’s rustic wood. Polished tables set with delicacies were lined with white linens for a clean and inviting look. Special thanks to Remi’s grandmother who handcrafted much of the decor and helped make this stunning wedding come to life. We love the idea of a candy bar in lieu of more traditional wedding favors. And a sign for the guests was right on target, love IS sweet. Surrounded by laughter, they held to one another and danced long into the night before stealing away to find their next adventure. It was the perfect end to a lovely day.
Thank you both so much for allowing us to photograph your wedding. We had a great time getting to know you and your families and wish you all the best in the years to come. Congratulations again!
